Impact100 SJ Receives Oaks Integrated Care’s Rooted In Community Award

On June 8, Impact100 South Jersey was among four recipients of Oaks Integrated Care's Rooted In Community Awards. The event took place at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ. Oaks Integrated Care is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults and families living with a mental illness, addiction or developmental disability. The organization offers over 230 health and social service programs throughout New Jersey designed to meet the needs of our community with compassion. By focusing on integrated care, we can begin to treat the whole person to achieve both mental and physical wellness. Alice Paul: In Pursuit of Ordinary Equality Written by Impact100 Member Ginny DeLong On May 6th, the Non-Profit Outreach Committee welcomed 20 Impact100 SJ members to Paulsdale, the ancestral home of women’s suffrage leader Alice Paul and now the headquarters of the Alice Paul Institute (API). The organization was the 2020 recipient of a $43,000 general operating grant that was used to help expand the national reach of its girl’s leadership programs by enhancing their digital presence. During the brief lecture and slide presentation by volunteer Mary Kimport, Impact members learned about the life and work of Alice Paul, the history of what was once a 175-acre farm, and the incredible struggle to win the right to vote for women. Impact100 South Jersey Raised and Will Award $211,000 in Grants to Local Nonprofits in 2023

Impact100 South Jersey announced that for 2023 it has recruited 211members, which will allow the group to award $211,000 to local nonprofits. Pinelands Preservation Alliance and Impact100 South Jersey, Perfect Together!

Impact100 South Jersey members had a picture perfect day to experience the beauty of the Pinelands with a hike at the Black Run Preserve in Evesham Township. The hike was led by Carleton Montgomery, Executive Director of the Pinelands Preservation Alliance (PPA), one of our two 2022 $50,000 general operating grantees. Carleton was excited to share their work with our members when Nonprofit Outreach committee member, Susan Andrew, reached out to organize this meetup. During the 1.5 hour hike through the preserve, members were treated to beautiful scenery and an overview of the history of the Pinelands. They learned about the unique composition of the water and soil that make this ecosystem different from other forest habitats. 2022 Member Survey Results

Over the summer, we conducted a member survey to learn more about our members: how long they’ve been part of Impact100, what motivated them to join and renew, and how they want to be engaged with committees and each other. Many thanks members who responded and provided detailed comments. Among those who responded, we have a fairly even mix of members who initially joined in each year we’ve been around – going back to those charter members from 2017. What most influenced members to join were leveraging their donation to have more impact (78.46%) and being part of a community of like-minded women (80.6%).
