Two-time Grantee, Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS)of Cumberland & Salem Counties sees Impact100SJ members as a path to their success. BBBS of Cumberland & Salem Counties has received two Impact100 South Jersey grants in four years. In 2019, they were awarded our Core Mission grant of $100K to help launch their new Mentor2.0 project which uses iMentor technology to match high school students with mentors. This year, they were one of two 2023 recipients of a $55,500 general operating grant. The BBBS mission is “to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of young people. Their vision is that all youth achieve their full potential. They partner with parents/guardians, volunteers, and others in the community and hold themselves accountable for each child in their program…

A member since 2019, Cindy Washko-Margraf was a bit disappointed that she didn’t know about Impact100 South Jersey one year earlier. Being a philanthropist at heart, she deeply endorses the concept of collective giving and would have loved to have been a charter member. Nevertheless, she is very proud to be a member for the last five years and to be a part of such an impactful group of women making a real difference in South Jersey. Cindy and her late husband raised their children in Medford though she recently sold the family home and now lives full time in their Ocean City home. Impact100 SJ Receives Oaks Integrated Care’s Rooted In Community Award

On June 8, Impact100 South Jersey was among four recipients of Oaks Integrated Care's Rooted In Community Awards. The event took place at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ. Oaks Integrated Care is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults and families living with a mental illness, addiction or developmental disability. The organization offers over 230 health and social service programs throughout New Jersey designed to meet the needs of our community with compassion. By focusing on integrated care, we can begin to treat the whole person to achieve both mental and physical wellness. Alice Paul: In Pursuit of Ordinary Equality Written by Impact100 Member Ginny DeLong On May 6th, the Non-Profit Outreach Committee welcomed 20 Impact100 SJ members to Paulsdale, the ancestral home of women’s suffrage leader Alice Paul and now the headquarters of the Alice Paul Institute (API). The organization was the 2020 recipient of a $43,000 general operating grant that was used to help expand the national reach of its girl’s leadership programs by enhancing their digital presence. During the brief lecture and slide presentation by volunteer Mary Kimport, Impact members learned about the life and work of Alice Paul, the history of what was once a 175-acre farm, and the incredible struggle to win the right to vote for women. Impact100 South Jersey Raised and Will Award $211,000 in Grants to Local Nonprofits in 2023

Impact100 South Jersey announced that for 2023 it has recruited 211members, which will allow the group to award $211,000 to local nonprofits. Since launching in 2017, Impact100 South Jersey has raised $1,035,360 for organizations serving Burlington, Camden, Gloucester & Cumberland Counties. 2023 Members gathered Wednesday, January 11 for The Big Reveal and Celebration at the Camden County Boathouse in Pennsauken, NJ to learn the results of the fall 2022 collective giving membership drive. “It is an absolute thrill to have raised over $million dollars one member at a time,” said Impact100 South Jersey President Kyle Ruffin, “We are proud to be a catalyst for South Jersey women who want to bring transformative change to local nonprofits addressing needs in the region we all love.” Impact100 grant review volunteers have already begun…

Pinelands Preservation Alliance and Impact100 South Jersey, Perfect Together!

Impact100 South Jersey members had a picture perfect day to experience the beauty of the Pinelands with a hike at the Black Run Preserve in Evesham Township. The hike was led by Carleton Montgomery, Executive Director of the Pinelands Preservation Alliance (PPA), one of our two 2022 $50,000 general operating grantees. Carleton was excited to share their work with our members when Nonprofit Outreach committee member, Susan Andrew, reached out to organize this meetup. During the 1.5 hour hike through the preserve, members were treated to beautiful scenery and an overview of the history of the Pinelands. They learned about the unique composition of the water and soil that make this ecosystem different from other forest habitats.
