Core Mission Grant Application Process
The Core Mission Grant Application process includes two steps:
1) All applying organizations submit a Grant Eligibility Application. This application includes basic information about the nonprofit, as well as financial information. All applicants must upload three years of 990s and three years of corresponding independent audits. The Grant Eligibility Application will be evaluated by our Finance Review Committee. The Grant Eligibility Application will open late fall.
2) Organizations determined to be eligible and financially sound will move onto Step 2. They will be invited to submit a full project proposal via a second application. Applicants are notified in late January if they are invited to submit a full proposal. Once completed, the full application will be evaluated by our Grant Review Committees.
Visit Impact100SJ’s Grants Timeline for grant application open and closing dates.
Core Mission Grant Review Process
The Grant Review Committees consists of Impact100 SJ members who will evaluate the proposals and determine which organizations will receive a site visit. These organizations are considered the semi-finalists in our grant review process. Site visits will take place in the spring.
After site visits are completed, the Grant Review Committees meet to determine three finalists for our Core Mission Grant. The three finalists are presented to our full membership at our Annual Meeting in June. At the Annual Meeting, each finalist will give a short presentation; our members then vote by individual ballot to select the organization to receive the $100,000 Core Mission Grant. The remaining two finalists will receive general operating support grants – the exact amount determined by the number of our 2026 members which will be publicly announced in mid-June.
All applications will be submitted through an on-line portal. Previous applicants to lmpact100 SJ should use their log in credentials from the previous year. New applicants to lmpact100 SJ will be directed to a “sign up” page to create an account. Instructions, including screenshots, to use the portal will be available from the portal home page.
All correspondence with applicants will be handled through the portal. Please make sure your contact information remains current throughout the entire grant process.
