Lauren Regina, Impact100 SJ Membership Co-Chair and Leadership Council Member During June of 2018, I was scrolling through my Facebook page when one post, above anything else I’d read and seen that day, caught my attention. Pictured was a large group of women surrounding an oversized check held by representatives of Hopeworks, a local Camden charity. The check was in the amount $74,000! I studied the photo and reread the post several times and after a few seconds I said to myself, I’m going to join this group! Two months later, while attending a local community event, I was introduced to a polished and polite woman named Nancy. After talking awhile, and hitting it off, she asked me if I ever heard of Impact100. I answered “YES!” and that I…

Meet Wendy Frantz. You may recognize her from the 2019 Annual Meeting. She was the lovely lady accompanying the photographer and collecting names of the guests. That photographer was Kerry Walsh of Kerry Anne Photography — Wendy's former student. Like many of our members, Wendy believes in introducing the next generation to collective giving. In Her Words...here's what attracted Wendy to Impact100 South Jersey. "I first heard about Impact100 SJ from my friend Judy Greenberg. She was incredibly excited about the work she was doing to provide grant money to nonprofit organizations in South Jersey. Her enthusiasm was infectious and I attended an information session at the Haddon Fortnightly to learn more about it. There I learned everything I needed to know; joining Impact100 SJ was a great opportunity to…

Meet Julie Strohlein. She's one of the new members of the Impact100 SJ Leadership Council, serving as our treasurer. She is also one of the 5 women sponsored by our generous supporter Alloy Silverstein Accountants and Advisors. In Her Words...here's why she finds being involved with Impact100 South Jersey so rewarding. "Like many people, I have been involved in various charitable endeavors over the years.  Often this consists of simply donating money, but sometimes the investment is greater and I give my time.  Whether this is by serving on a non-profit board, volunteering to help with my sons’ sports teams, or leading a team at my company’s annual adopt-a-family program, the act of giving my time always makes me feel more connected to the project.   I am thrilled to be doing that…

How One Member Leveraged Her Impact

How One Member Leveraged Her Impact

SJ WOMEN GIVE
In June, Impact100 SJ members awarded Ronald McDonald House of Southern NJ $27,500 to replace the carpet throughout the Camden facility with easier to maintain flooring. They had applied for the $100k Core Mission Grant for this project, but our members were thrilled that the organization didn't walk away empty-handed. We knew they, at least, had a large chunk of what they needed to complete the renovation. But that wasn't enough for Jackie Cometz, who became part of Impact100 SJ collective giving initiative last October. Impact100 SJ Leadership Council presents Ronald McDonald House of Southern NJ with $27.5k General Operating Grant. "It was Divine Intervention that I joined the group prior to this event because when I hear the word "flooring" .... my ears perk up!" Cometz shared. "I approached…

Elizabeth presenting at an Impact100 SJ Membership Info Session. When I worked full time as a Human Resources Vice President for Lockheed Martin, being actively involved in community service was a dream I hoped to someday realize.  Working 50-60 hours a week with a heavy travel schedule left me with little time for other endeavors.  But that dream began to take shape when I retired.  Joining Impact100 was a logical next step for me.  A women’s collective giving effort would allow me to amplify the impact of my giving, meet and work with like-minded women, and have a strong impact on my community.  Since joining as a Charter Member in 2017, I’ve become involved in membership recruitment, public relations & communication efforts and events planning.  I’ve introduced friends and colleagues to Impact100 by hosting information sessions…

SJ WOMEN GIVE
The Impact100 South Jersey Annual Meeting is the most exciting night of the year. It's the culmination of a year of hard work engaging new members, re-engaging existing members and managing a very stringent grant review process. Our volunteers work hard and the annual meeting gives them a chance to network and celebrate what we've accomplished together. But, of course, the real reason for getting together is to hear from our grant candidates and vote to award the grants to which we all contributed. 2019 Annual Meeting Photo Gallery Click on the photo to enlarge.
