Kristy Kazelskis is thrilled to be a new member of Impact 100SJ because she believes, “Women are the ones who always get the job done,” much like Margaret Thatcher’s quote, “If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman.” A huge attraction for Kristy to join Impact 100SJ is that its mission is designed for women, only.
Kristy reports to Rosemarie Parker, who is the Chief Executive Officer, Family Promise of Southwest New Jersey. Pascale Sykes Foundation is sponsoring Kristy this year, for which she is grateful. She is excited to be a member of the Events committee and looks forward to contributing.
Kristy received a degree in mathematics from Rowan University. During college, she worked at British Airways at the Philadelphia Airport. Through this position, she learned much needed life skills such as the art of customer relations and effectively working with the general public.
Kristy met her husband Bob while working at Deutsche Bank in Marlton, in the inventory finance department. After a few years, Kristy decided to work with her aunt who had a large speech pathology practice in Collingswood. She worked as a bookkeeper there and was given the opportunity to train in ABA therapy (Applied Behavioral Analysis) for children living with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Kristy and Bob married in 2001 and soon thereafter had their son, Zachary. Zach attended the East Greenwich schools and then Kingsway Regional High School. Zach participated in the music programs, learned to play the trumpet and was a member of the school’s concert and marching bands. Kristy was a member of the PTA and marching band boosters, a group of parents whose children play in the band.
Even though Kristy’s volunteerism began at Zach’s schools, she volunteered with Autism Speaks (arranging groups for walk-a-thons) and as a board member of Family Promise of Southwest NJ prior to beginning a full-time position there in 2021.
Kristy is now Director of Operations (bookkeeper and head of transportation) at Family Promise of Southwest NJ in Clarksboro, NJ. Family Promise is a non-profit related to case management and assistance for families experiencing homelessness in Gloucester, Cumberland, Salem and Camden Counties.
Kristy and her family live in Mickleton, Gloucester Township and they have a home in Sun Retreats, near Sea Isle City. They moved to New Jersey in 2006 from Philadelphia. Kristy’s husband, Bob is a nurse anesthetist with Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia and Inspira. Zach currently attends Rowan University and studies chemical engineering. Kristy loves to cook, entertain, travel, boating and fishing.
