MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Ellen Ragone

Ellen learned about the Impact100 organization from her cousin who is very involved with Greenville (SC) Women Giving.  Hearing about all the good they do in their community, Ellen wanted to help her South Jersey community the same way, so she joined Impact100 South Jersey.  In the three years since she became a member, Ellen has been appointed to the Impact100 Leadership Council, and now co-chairs the Public Relations/ Marketing and Resource Development committees.   Ellen has been in the public relations/marketing field for over 25 years, most recently serving as Chief Marketing Officer for a few large law firms.

Ellen graduated from the University of Delaware and began her career at the American Red Cross in New York City.  “I had a great boss who mentored me.  Thanks to him I gained a lot of experience in the public relations field.”  From there, Ellen went to work at the American Lung Association of Philadelphia where at the age of 27 was promoted to Executive Director.  “I loved working for non-profits and being able to experience all the important work they do in the community. So, I promised myself I would stay involved through volunteer positions.  “This is why I feel honored to be part of Impact100 South Jersey and am in awe of our work we do as an organization.”

A couple of years ago, Ellen and a Partner opened Ragone DeLong Communications, a full-service marketing company. Even with the start of a new venture, Ellen always finds time to support the non-profits she is involved with, especially Impact100 South Jersey. “Providing game-changing funding to local organizations and seeing the results of those grants is so rewarding. Plus, I get to work with an amazing group of women who are truly committed to helping the South Jersey community.”

Ellen is a member of South Jersey Women in Business. She also volunteers for other organizations, including the Haddonfield Lions Club and the Female Hebrew Benevolent Society. Ellen and her husband Larry are parents to three adult children and have three grand puppies they adore!
