BEYOND THE CHECK: Yogas & Alpacas at Ronald McDonald House

How to bring joy to kids?  Bring Alpacas to Ronald McDonald House.

YES, Alapacas. Supporting our grantees and their missions can take many forms. Impact100 South Jersey Nonprofit Outreach Committee Co-Chair Sue Levy-Polikoff arranged a visit from Morning Glori Farmette located in Marlton, NJ for the first ever Alpaca visit. Rocky and Party Crasher were a big hit, even though some families were a bit apprehensive in the beginning.

During another visit, Sue taught Yoga to parents, staff and some of the kids who are undergoing treatment or post op treatment/therapy at local hospitals.” I don’t think the parents realized how much they needed this till they noticed their bodies starting to relax which is huge.”

Levy-Polikoff also created activity packets for the kids that included word search with yoga words in Spanish and English, a few coloring pages of kids’ yoga poses and the beautiful playlist for our group. This came in handy because the kids in wheelchairs were able to be in the room and engage with the activity.
