2021 Grantee Gratitude

From our 2021 general operating grantee NJ Agricultural Society regarding the Farmers Against Hunger grant…

On behalf of the New Jersey Agricultural Society, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude for the very generous award of $50,000 to support the implementation of the Farmers Against Hunger Grow for Good program at the Laurel Run Land Stewardship Center in Delran, Burlington County, New Jersey.

With your support of the Grow for Good program, we will be able to begin expanding our food donation and outreach to those local populations that are most vulnerable and most in need, i.e., the elderly, disabled, veterans, homeless, unemployed, underemployed, or economically disadvantaged due to other circumstances. Additionally, we will be able to begin to plan for expanded outreach to schools, youth-serving organizations, and young farmers in the Burlington County area to provide educational programming.

Over time, the Farmers Against Hunger base of operations at the Center in Burlington County will significantly enhance our ability to reach deeper into Southern New Jersey, i.e., to Camden, Gloucester, and Cumberland Counties, to benefit the lives of thousands more who are the constituent-base of Impact100 South Jersey. In short, we will ensure that the grant award from Impact100 South Jersey serves as an important investment in future of Burlington County and other South Jersey communities in need.

Please note that we do apologize for the delay in sending this letter of thanks. In the case of a significant award received as a result of a highly competitive grants process, our practice is to first notify our full Board of Trustees formally of the award before taking other action. Unfortunately, the Board meeting, which would have followed shortly after the notice of award, had to be rescheduled until July 21. We were most excited to announce to the full Board at that meeting that we had received this significant and generous award. Our Trustees were exceedingly grateful for the funding support from Impact100 South Jersey to help us make an even greater difference in the lives of those in need.

Sincerely,
